Medical Supplies

Some of the medical supplies provided to hospice patients include:

  • No-Rinse Shampoo
    • This shampoo cleanses hair without needing water.  It is ideal for  limited mobility patients
  • No-Rinse Body Wash
    • This body wash cleanses skin without needing water.  It is ideal for  limited mobility patients
  • Body Lotion
    • As the body processes decline, the skin can become very dry.  Lotion helps with easing the discomfort.
  • Calmoseptine Lotion
    • This lotion helps with limited mobility patients.  It acts as a barrier between skin and the linen clothing or bed sheets to prevent chafing and irritation, thereby preventing pressure ulcers (bed sores).
  • A + D Ointment
    • This ointment is protects the skin from irritation due to rubbing or chafing.  This is ideal for protecting skin when incontinence is present.
  • Gloves
    • Gloves are helpful in preventing transfer of bodily fluids, lotions, or medications between patient and caregiver.
  • Underpads (also known as "chux")
    • Underpads are used when a semi-absorptive waterproof barrier under the patient is needed.  These can be used when providing bathing care or when incontinence is present. Called "chux" because you can "chuck" them in the garbage when used.
  • Diapers
    • Diapers in various sizes keep our patients dry and healthy when incontinence is present.
  • Wipes
    • Premoistened towelettes are very helpful in cleansing the skin.
