Hospice Criteria

The criteria for hospice eligibility is three-part:

  1. The patient is suffering from a terminal illness, and has six (6) months or less to live if the illness runs its normal course.
  2. Curative measures have ended and the focus of care is now on physical, emotional, and spiritual comfort.
  3. The patient's primary physician has authorized hospice care using a Certification of Terminal Illness.
